Neues Album von Nikea Bustla

Als fünfte Veröffentlichung auf Spheredelic.com gibt es ein Album von Nikea Bustla. Einige von Euch kennen vielleicht seine Veröffentlichungen auf Global Vortex Records, Kosmonetlabel oder Subwise. Diesesmal veröffentlicht Nikea Bustla sein neues Album, mit dem Titel "Cafe Orange", exklusiv auf Spheredelic. Die acht Stücke, auf dem Album, sind im IDM Gewand gekleidet und werden dabei nicht mit einer Vielzahl von unterschiedlichen Klängen gefüttert. Statt dessen, hält sich Nikea Bustla eher minimal bekleidet - weniger ist machmal mehr! Dadurch entstehen filigran gesponnene Klänge, die einen hypnotisch in den Bann ziehen. Zusätzlich gibt es auf "Cafe Orange" zwei Remix von Daniel Lambert und Mark Hjorthoy. Das Cover wurde exklusiv von der Künstlerin Lara Hjothoy entworfen. The 5th release on Spheredelic is an album by Nikea Bustla. Some of You maybe know him from his releases on Global Vortex Records, Kosmonetlabel or Subwise.  This time he releases his brand new album titled "Cafe Orange" exclusively on Spheredelic. The 8 tracks on this album are in IDM style. They are not overloaded with sounds, instead they keep being strictly minimal which reveals to be an enrichment. Thus sophicated sounds emerge - drawing the listener into the state of a hypnotic fascination. The album is completed by two brilliant remixes by Daniel Lambert and Mark Hjorthoy. The design artist, Lara Hjorthoy, provided the exclusive covert art.

Daniel Lambert - Twitch.

Spheredelic presents a new EP called "Twitch" by Australian musician Daniel Lambert.

Daniel Lambert is one of the rising stars in the firmament of Electronica in Australia. His sound is convincing with groovy breakbeat rhythms, melodies and inspring accentuated funky hooks. He is on the one hand catchy, on the other hand, he always surprises by sudden changes and thereby enables the listener to wonder. Parallel to the release, there is a "Spheredelic On Air" online-radio show with pieces by Daniel Lambert, as a part of a DJ mix of Nikea Bustla. The show will be on Thursdays at 20:00 clock and Sundays at 21:00 clock, starting at May 2013 the 2nd, on Radio Gaarden.

Im Juli präsentiert Spheredelic das Album „Tomorrow´s Transmissions“ von Nikea Bustla.
Das Cover wurde von dem australischen Künstler Daniel Lambert entworfen.

Nikea Bustla ist gereift. Längst überfällig, wie es scheint, war es an der Zeit für ihn, ein neues Album zu produzieren.

Während die diversen EP Veröffentlichungen der letzten Jahre stets auf einzelne Aspekte der vielen Facetten seiner Fähigkeiten fokussiert waren, ist „Tomorrow´s Transmissions“ von einer weitaus größeren Vielschichtigkeit geprägt. Deswegen (oder trotz dieses Umstandes) zeigt es sich kontinuierlich anspruchsvoll und gleichzeitig unterhaltsam. Was vielleicht noch wichtiger ist – das Album funktioniert als Ganzes. Es ist zusammengeschweißt durch eine weitere konsistente Qualität, die sich durchs Album durchzieht, nämlich die professionelle Produktion, die auf die minutiösesten Details in der Klanggestaltung achtet und jedem Stück eine profunde dynamische Tiefe verleiht.

Der aufmerksame Zuhörer wird gelegentlich subtile Verweise auf Nikeas persönliche Helden wahrnehmen, zum Beispiel auf Boards of Canada oder den etwas überlebensgroßen AFX. Nichtsdestotrotz lässt jedes einzelne Stück deutlich Nikea Bustla erkennen. Sein Markenzeichen sind die sofort erkennbaren repetitiven Vier-Akkorde-Patterns, die oft hypnotisierend, gelegentlich beinahe zielgerichtet bedrohlich wirken. Wie auch immer, was sich jenseits dieser Basslines abspielt, ist schwer vorherzusagen und sorgt nicht selten für eine Überraschung. Das Spektrum erstreckt sich von augenzwinkernden Selbstzitaten mittels 90er Jahre-Fußgestampfe bis hin zu funkiger Jazz-Fusion. 
Gelegentlich findet man einen Wink auf den BBC Radiophonic Workshop oder verwunschene Atmosphären, wie man sie vom britischen Ghost Box - Label kennt.

Das Album erreicht weite, offene Räume und verklärte astrale Ebenen.

Nikea Bustla has matured.  Well overdue a point of time, it seems, to come up with an album proper.

Whereas the several EP releases of recent years were always focused on single aspects of
Nikea Bustla’s multi-facetted abilities, Tomorrow’s Transmissions is a much more versatile affair. Therefore (or despite of this?), it is continuously as demanding as it is entertaining and – possibly even more important – the album works as a whole.  It’s all welded together by another consistent quality which permeates the album, namely the professional production quality, which pays loving attention to even the most minute of details In sound sculpture, and which gives each and every track a profound dynamic depth.

The discerning listener will occasionally notice subtle hints at some of Nikea’s personal heroes, e.g. Boards of Canada, or the somewhat bigger-than-life AFX. Nevertheless, each and every track is distinctly Nikea Bustla – it’s those trademark repetitive four-chord-patterns which are instantly recognizable, to a hypnotic effect in many places, almost purposefully menacing at other times.  

However, what will unravel on top of those baselines is anybody’s guess, and surely you’re in for a surprise or two: the spectrum ranges from a tongue-in-cheek quotation of his own prehistory via a delivery of early ‘90s stomping footwork to jazz-funky fusion. With occasional  nods at the Radiophonic era and a hauntological Ghost Box vibe, the album reaches wide open spaces and serene celestial plains.
