Zum Jahresende beschenkt euch spheredelic noch mit einem entspannten Album, aufgenommen von Lutz Thuns & Alien Nature, trägt es den Titel Nocturnus. Lutz Thuns dürfte unseren Zuhörern nicht unbekannt sein, hat er doch schon vor drei Jahren ein ALbum bei spheredelic veröffentlicht!

Nocturnus ist ein 6 Track starkes und dennoch 76! Minuten langes Album. Nun gut, es ist ein ambientalbum, da gehören lange Tracks ja quasi zum guten Ton. Doch auch dieser Ton will vernünftig komponiert sein, und so finden wir auf diesem Album (in Collaboration mit Alien Nature) wabbernde Synthesizerflächen im steten Diskurs mit extraterrestrischen Walgesängen, zischende drones durchbrochen von spirituellen Glocken, minimale melodische Strukturen im Tanz mit stakkatoartigen elektronischen Drums. Es passiert viel in dieser Musik, aber ohne, dass es je zu viel auf einmal ist, jeder Klang, jedes Instrument, jede Harmonie bekommt ausreichend Platz, um sich in der Komposition nicht zu verlieren, nicht unterzugehen, und somit seinen Teil zu diesem Hörerlebnis beitragen kann.

Closing in on this year, we at spheredelic would like to gift you yet another beautiful record. It is called Nocturnus and has been recorded by Lutz Thuns & Alien Nature. Lutz Thuns might sound familiar to our listeners, well he did release a record prior to this one on our label like 3 years ago!

Nocturnus is a 6 track record, but still manages to have a full runtime of 76! minutes. Well, it is after all an ambientrecord, so having long tracks on it is a given must. Yet still, this precious playtime still has to be filled with proper music. In collaboration with Alien Nature, they put together wobbling synthesizer-soundscapes, constantly coomunicating with some eerie space-whale-humms, hissing drones intertwined by spiritual bells, minimalistic melodic structures dancing with stakkatoesque electronic Drums. There is a lot of stuff going on in this music, yet still, you never feel overwhelmed by the sound, since each and every instrument, sound and harmony gets enough space to neither get lost in the composition nor overwhelm the listener, being in perfect balance for the listener to enjoy.

Im August präsentiert Spheredelic das Album „On The Other Side“ von Lutz Thuns. Das Cover Artwork wurde von der Wiener Künstlerin Kuki Walsch gestaltet.

Lutz Thuns wurde 1958 in Berlin geboren. Er beschäftigt sich mit elektronischer Musik seit 2008. Er benutzt digitale und virtuell analoge Synthesizer mit denen er entspannten Ambient erzeugt.

In Zusammenarbeit mit Wolgang Gsell hat er diverse Album-Veröffentlichungen auf Bandcamp vorzuweisen. Ein weiteres Projekt, 11ter Morph, ist eine Kooperation mit Harald Bertram.  Zur Zeit finden gemeinsame Aufnahmen mit verschiedenen Musik unter dem Titel „Friends of Ambient“ statt.

Die Musik auf „On The Other Side“ ist tief verwurzelt in der Deutschen Elektronischen Musik der 70er Jahre. Minimale melodische Strukturen entwerfen eine beinahe episch wirkende Projektion der einzelnen Retroklänge zu einem kohärenten Ganzen. Hektische Arpeggios verschmelzen mit sphärischen Flächen, so dass eine organisch lebendige Monotonie der einnehmenden Rhythmik entsteht.

Der Hörer wird entrückt in eine geheimnisvolle Welt der frohsinnigen Kontemplation.  So wird der ästhetische Rückblick zu der Vision einer neo-psychedelischen Zukunft.

In August Spheredelic presents the album „On The Other Side“ by Lutz Thuns. The Cover art created by the Vienna artist Kuki Walsch.

Lutz Thuns was born 1958 in Berlin. He has devoted himself to electronic music since 2008. He uses digital and virtual analogue synthesizers – producing a relaxed ambient sound.

He exhibits various album releases on Bandcamp in collaboration with Wolfgang Gsell. Another collaborating project with Harald Bertram is called 11er Morph. Currently he is busy recording together with several musicians under the title „Friends of Ambient“.

The music on „On The Other Side“ is deeply embedded in the German Electronic Music of the 70s. Minimal melodic structures create an almost epic projection, combining the individual retro-sounds into a coherent entity. Hectic arpeggios melt with spherical pads, evolving an organically vivid monotony of pleasant rhythm.

The listener is elevated into a mystical realm of cheerful contemplation. Thus the aesthetical retrospective unfolds a futuristic vision of Neo-Psychedelia...
