Passend zur grauen, kalten Jahreszeit stellt euch Spheredelic eine Platte von Massimo Brazzini, einem sonst bunten, leicht schrägen Italiener, vor. Nicht weil seine Musik zum kuscheln und besinnlich sein einlädt, sondern weil sie wirklich wie der Winter ist, grau und kalt nämlich...

Massimo Brazzini, '65er Jahrgang, sieht Kunst nicht als Option in seinem Leben, sondern als Notwendigkeit. Ob Bilder oder Texte oder Sounds, Massimo ist immer auf der Suche nach dem inneren, spirituellen Part, dem Element, dass dem Ganzen Leben einhaucht.

Auf der LP 'Archeological finds of a soul' tobt sich Massimo also ganz und gar in seinen musikalischen Leidenschaften aus. Dazu zählen nämlich nicht nur krude Sounds und verzerrte Sprachsamples von uralten, auf Dachböden verschollenen Kassetten, sondern das gesamte Repertoire eines Künstlers, der Industrial/Noise/Ambient/Drone/Soundlandschaften in Einklang bringt. Von knisternden Schallplatten (oder doch eher ein Kaminfeuer?) über sphärische Streicher, Störgeräusche und -effekte, Hall in allen erdenklichen Formen, all das und viel mehr wurde von Massimo Brazzini verwendet, um den Geist, die Seele der einzelnen Klänge zu finden, nur um sie dann fein sorgsam neu zu arrangieren.

'Archeological finds of a soul' ist ein musikalischer Spaziergang am Meer, der Himmel dunkel, das Wasser brausend, ein stechender Wind aus allen Richtungen und das Gefühl, das jeden Moment ein Gewitter losbrechen kann. Dunkler Ambient mit Industrial-Noise und experimentellen Soundlandschaften, Massimo Brazzini versteht sein Handwerk!

Matching the cold and grey season, Spheredelics next release is a recording by Massimo Brazzini, an otherwise colourful and curious man from Italy. And the music doesn't match the winter because it involves candle light and a hot cocoa, but because, well, it's cold and grey...

For Massimo Brazzini, born '65, art just isn´t some option, but rather a necessity in his life. Be it words or paintings or sounds, Massimo is always on the hunt for the inner soul, the spiritual element of it. That one thing that makes a sound living and a painting telling stories.

On the LP 'Archeological finds of a soul' one can find Massimo doing what he loves most. And this list doesn't only include strange sounds or voice samples, that one would find on a long-lost cassette in an eerie attic. His list of passions also includes industrial/noise/ambient/drone/soundscapes, and he knows how to use all of it in one musical harmony. Be it the warm spatter of an old vinyl (or maybe its the sound of some crackling fireplace?), spheric sounding bow instruments, distorting sounds and effects, reverb in all imaginable possibilities, all of these and way more are used by Massimo Brazzini, just to find the soul of the sound itself, so that afterwards it can be rearranged with diligence.

'Archeological finds of a soul' is like a promenade at oceans bay, the sky is grey, the sea is booming, a stingy wind from all directions and the constant feeling, that any moment hell could break loose. Dark ambient with a bit of industrial-noise and textures of sounds, Massimo Brazzini knows what he is doing!

Omar El Abd veröffentlicht diesen Monat unter seinem Künstlernamen 'Omrr' sein Album 'The Quiet Ones' auf Spheredelic. Omar ist 82er Jahrgang, seßhaft in Kairo, Ägypten, ist Autodidakt, Gitarrist, Soundschmied und Musiker. Schon in den 90ern spielte er viel auf der Gitarre, später kamen dann viele elektronische Instrumente sowie Software und Aufnahmegeräte für seine Field Recordings dazu. Sein Sound setzt sich zu grßen Teilen aus den Genres Glitch, Noise, Ambient, Field Recordings und - welch Überraschung!- Gitarre zusammen.

'The Quiet Ones' ist ein eher minimalistisches Album, feine Gitarrenmelodien mit leichtem Gesang, Ambient mit viel Glitch, warmes Analograuschen und scheinbar unzähligen sauber produzierten Sounds. Und trotzt dieser Fülle an Stilen und sehr vielen Samples wirkt diese Platte nie überladen, sondern lässt einen in diesem Meer aus nie aufdringlichen Sounds treiben. Hätten Telefon Tel Aviv ein chilliges Ambient Album mit vielen field recordings aufgenommen, es wäre wohl der heitere Bruder von 'The Quiet Ones' gewesen.

This month, Omar El Abd releases his record, titled 'The Quiet Ones', under his alias omrr on the spheredelic label. Omar, born in '82, is currently residing in Cairo, Egypt, is a self tought guitarist, soundforger, musician. In the 90s Omar played a lot on his guitar before expanding into many other electronic instruments, the according software and his field recordings equipment. His sound can be described as a combination of glitch, noise, ambient, field recordings and - what a surprise! - guitar.

'The Quiet Ones' is a rather minimalistic record, some fine guitarsounds with light voice singing to it, ambient with a lot of glitch, the warmth of analogue noise and seemingly myriads of clean produced sounds. And still, even with that many samples and styles the record never feels overburdend, instead it lets you drift afar in an ozean of never intrusive sounds. If Telefon Tel Aviv were to make a chilly ambient record with field recordings, it would be 'The Quiet Ones' serene Brother.

Mit „Non-Genesis“ veröffentlicht Spheredelic zum zweiten Mal, in diesem Jahr, ein Album von Superalma Project.

Dieser Release hat einen narrativen Faden, der sich durch das gesamte Album spinnt, einen Gegenentwurf zur biblischen Schöpfungsgeschichte, der Genesis. In der heutigen Welt, wo Trump Präsident ist, die Alt-Rechts-Bewegung so viele Anhänger hat, überall Terror auf unschuldige Menschen losgelassen wird, braucht es einen Neuanfang, eine Anti-Genesis bzw Non-Genesis, in der die Welt von all diesem Übel befreit, gereinigt wird. Dazu passend sind auch die Titel der in zwei Teile gegliederten LP, 'The Self-Disembowelment of God' sowie 'The Skies Above Declare the Death of God's Purpose for Mankind', thematisch und zum Teil musikalisch, lässt sich dieses Album wunderbar mit TOOLs Track ∆nema vergleichen.

Wie klingt nun dieses neue Werk von Igor Almeida, dem Künstler hinter Superalma Project? Im ersten Part erwartet uns ein ruhiger, melancholischer Einstieg, voller düsterer Klänge im Hintergrund, die vor sich hinwabbern, einzelne Geräusche, die verzerrten Engelsstimmen gleichen. Nach wenigen Minuten nimmt der Sound an Fahrt auf, die Geräusche werden dominanter, bis schließlich ein verzerrter Bass und Synthesizer einsetzen, die eine Endzeitstimmung heraufbeschwören, die sich bald auch wieder in sonderbare Geräusche auflöst, jene verzerrten Engelsstimmen, Geräuschartefakte und auch eine Orgel aus dem Jenseits. Noch mehr Noise und unverständliche Stimmen zerlegen die Song Struktur komplett, bevor zum Schluß des ersten Parts ein düster treibender Beat die vollständige Auflösung des Göttlichen erzählt.

Im zweiten Teil erzählt Superalma Project die Geschichte weiter, das wohlwollende Göttliche ist tot, die Zeit der Reinigung steht bevor. Traurige Klänge bereiten die Menschheit darauf vor, begleitet von einem ständig anwachsendem Beat und glitchy Sounds. Mal verstimmt all das und wir hören wieder verzerrte sakrale Sounds, bis dann doch wieder die Apokalyptische Stimmung einsetzt.

Mit dem Kontext einer 'Non-Genesis', versetzt dieses Album den Hörer auf eine Reise, in der die Geschichte, nicht durch Worte, sondern durch Klänge erzählt wird. Und genau so etwas sollte Musik schaffen können, was sie hier wunderbar demonstriert und mal wieder beweist, was für ein großartiger Künstler Igor Almeida ist.

With 'Non-Genesis', we at spheredelic are proud to release the second record by Superalma Project in this year.

This release has a specific narrative to tell, a counterpart to the biblical story of creation of all mankind, the genesis. In our modern world, where someone like Trump gets elected President, where the Alt-Right movement is gaining popularity, where innocent people have to suffer under religious terrorism, we need some kind of new beginning, a Anti-Genesis or Non-Genesis, cleansing the whole world. Fitting to this theme are also the titles of this two-part LP, 'The Self-Disembowelment of God' aswell as 'The Skies Above Declare the Death of God's Purpose for Mankind', having thematical and a bit musical similarities to TOOLs ∆nema.

So, how does this latest release by Igor Almeida, the mastermind behind Superalma Project, actually sound? The first part starts with calm, melancholic sounds, after a while dark noises in the background join in, some of them resembling distorted voices of angels. These gain more and more dominance in this soundscape, till a gritty bass and synthesizer transform this into some endtime is coming' hymn, which soon dissolves again into artifacts of noises, the aforementioned voices of angels and some strange organ from beyond. Then even more noise and unintelligible voices deconstruct this first part even further, with a gloomy beat telling the story of the complete annihilation of any benevolent deity.

In the second part the story continues, the benevolent divinity is dead, the time for cleansing is upon us. Sad sounds are preparing mankind for this Non-Genesis, supported by increasing dark beats and glitchy noises. A break in all of this makes place for some distorted sacral sounds, but not for long and the apocalyptical soundscape from before flushes it all away.

With the context of a 'Non-Genesis' in mind, this record places every avid listener on a journey, where the story is told not with words, but with music. And exactly that is the purpose of music and once more demonstatrates, what great a musican Igor Almeida is.

This month we from Spheredelic are happy to announce a new release by Superalma Project, whom already proved there huge musicality at the last party/concert hosted by Spheredelic. The not so very short title of the EP is 'Cura circum animum mei intorquet ut in sella mei sedeo', for a translation ask either the band or google, my latin is waaay to rusty...

The Superalma Project is a trio consisting of the members Luiz Sangorgio (guitar, bass and vocals), Igor Almedia (keyboard, synthesizer, effects) and Alan Alves (Videojockey).

In deep harmony with each other these artist manage, especially when live in combination with thei visuals, to create wonderful soundscapes that just invite you to wander inside them. Multilayered track with loads of changing dynamics, beautyful melodies in stark contrast to disturbed noisy sounds, a bunch of different effect as well as moods and many more these guys have packed into this 10 minutes of music. Yes, you read right, only 10 minutes but packed with ambient, dark, IDM, drone and so much more, an amount most other artist wouldn't have in a whole record.

Diesen Monat freuen wir uns bei Spheredelic über eine EP von Superalma Project, die im Rahmen der letzten Spheredelic-Party ihr großes musikalisches Können schon live demonstrierten. Das Superalma Project ist ein Künstlertrio aus Brasilien bestehend aus den Mitgliedern Luiz Sangorgio (Gitarre, Bass und Vocals), Igor Almedia (Keyboard, Synthesizer, Effektgeräte) sowie Alan Alves (Videojockey).

Gemeinsam erschaffen sie, vor allem live in Kombination mit ihrer Videoshow, wunderbare Klangwelten, die einen zum darin reisen animieren. Vielschichtig strukturierte Tracks mit wechselnder Dynamik, schöne Melodien im Kontrast zu verzerrten Noisesounds, diverse Effekte und Stimmungen und noch mehr haben die Jungs in lediglich zehn Minuten gepackt. Ja, zehn Minuten voller Ambient, Dark, IDM, Drone und so viel mehr, viele Künstler schaffen so viele Ideen und Kompositionen nicht mal auf einem Album.
