pilotinthepicture – the aughts
It's summertime and we've got some chilled music for you...
With pilotinthepicture, Wolfram Zarnack – known from LEE SHORE and currently a member of DROWNSHIP – unveils his introspective solo project that deliberately transcends genre boundaries. Blending elements of prog rock, ambient, post-rock, and psychedelia, he creates a melancholic, atmospheric sound influenced by artists like Pink Floyd, Sonic Youth, Popol Vuh, and Marissa Nadler.
The Aughts, his debut on Spheredelic, brings together early recordings from the 2000s – raw musical sketches captured in a rehearsal space and Wolfram Zarnack’s former apartment in Hamburg. The songs explore themes of alienation, conformity, and the desire to break free within a world shaped by pressure and contradictions.
pilotinthepicture invites listeners to immerse themselves – an experience for those drawn to the unconventional and uninterested in staying within musical boundaries.
